What Is Solo Mining?
Solo mining is a method of cryptocurrency mining where your device works independently to attempt to mine a Bitcoin block. You compete directly with other miners to reap the full block reward.
Our Bitaxe Bitcoin solo miners are ‘open-source’, meaning you can access all of the ins and outs of your device and set it up however you want - we will support you in this.
Solo mining allows you to potentially accumulate Bitcoin without buying it directly on an exchange. We supply powerful, affordable and accessible ASIC miners for you to set up from home.

Solo mining means you’ll only get the whole block payout if your device finds a block, but with free solar energy, the risk is minimal. We actually recommend you use our miners in this orientation, However you should do your own research as individual strategies will differ. Our calculator helps show you your odds per year and the current block reward for both BTC and BCH.

By mining from home using your own solar power, you’re contributing to the decentralisation of crypto — keeping the network secure, distributed, and clean.
Every ASIC running on Aussie solar power helps reduce reliance on centralised, fossil-fuel-based mining operations overseas. -
The source code is publicly available, allowing a large community of developers to review it for security vulnerabilities and fix them more quickly than in a closed system.
Users can verify the security and functionality of the software of the miners for themselves, as all the code is publicly available.
You can read about about it at the Open Source Miners United (OSMU) Wiki

We supply a curated range of ASIC miners — compact, efficient, and designed for Australian homes and small-scale mining setups. All units are tested, locally supported, and ready to plug into your solar system.
-
You’ll need:
A stable internet connection
A power outlet or solar setup
One of our ASIC miners (we’ll help you pick the right one)
Optionally, you can join a mining pool to earn smaller, more frequent rewards — or try solo mining for the chance at a full block reward.
-
Earnings depend on:
Your miner’s hashrate
Electricity cost (ideally $0 if you’re using solar, with or without a battery)
Mining difficulty and network rewards
Whether you mine solo or in a pool
Use our Solar Mining Calculator to get real-time estimates of potential returns, including live BTC/BCH-to-AUD conversion.

Not much — just keep them clean and well-ventilated.
ASICs are designed to run continuously. We recommend dusting fans occasionally and monitoring temperatures indoors or in enclosed areas. -
A mining pool is a server that miners connect to in order to submit their work. While many pools split block rewards among all participants, some pools—like CKPool—are designed specifically for solo mining. In a solo pool, miners using devices like Bitaxes and NerdQaxe++ units still mine independently but benefit from a stable stratum connection and proper share handling. If you find a block while solo mining through a pool, you receive the entire block reward (minus pool fees) because you’re not sharing it with anyone else.
With devices like BitAxes and the NerdQaxe++ you of course have full freedom to join any pool of your choice and mine any cryptocurrency of your choice (as long as it follows the SHA-256 algorithm).
-
AU-CKPool is an Australian-based solo mining server optimised for local miners. It delivers low latency, fewer stale shares, and rock-solid uptime while still preserving true solo-mining rules. If your miner finds a block, you keep the full reward (minus pool fees), making it perfect for Bitaxe and NerdQaxe++ owners across Australia.
We recommend that you find a pool that is right for you. Here at Crypto miners Australia, we just think AU-CKpool is pretty neat!

All miners come with warranty and are backed by your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
If there’s an issue, contact us and we’ll arrange a repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate. -
If you have excess solar energy during the day (when feed-in tariffs are low or negative), you can use that power to mine cryptocurrency instead.
Rather than selling your power back to the grid for cents, you use it to generate digital assets like Bitcoin (BTC) or Bitcoin Cash (BCH) — increasing your potential return on free energy.Your potential pay out will vary on a number of factors. Read our page on Solo mining for more information.
